- Why is fat so hard to shed?
- What about “fat burning” acid or the grapefruit diet?
- Can you “crap-out” fat with laxatives?
- Whats the big buzz on lipodissolve?
- Let’s Not Forget About Liposuction!
It’s just a plain fact that fat removal is a multi-billion dollar a year industry. However; another fact is that not everyone involved in the industry is honest. You see, the more unscrupulous operators know all too well that there are plenty of folks out there that will pay top dollar if they think that some new technique, or the latest pill will do the trick.

It's all this guys fault
Of course it’s no secret that the all time best method for successful fat removal is to eat fewer calories, and get more exercise. The problem there though, is that exercise is tiring, leaves the muscles aching, and consuming less calories leads directly to hunger pangs. Hence; the market is huge for products and treatments that promise to deliver results without either of them.
The first thing that must be understood about fat removal, is that the human body simply hates to see it go, and will fight tooth and nail to hold onto it. Were all genetically programmed that way because eons ago when our ancient ancestors lived off the land extra fat on their body meant that they stood a better chance of surviving.
So considering that your body has had hundreds of thousands of years to develop the mechanisms that it uses to grab hold of, and store fat, and you’ve only had a few decades to work out your ideas, and notions about how you should look and how you’re going to go about any changes, you’re more than a bit out-gunned.
The Grapefruit Diet or Acidic Food Diet

Man if it could just be that easy
These types of fat removal schemes tend to revolve around the concept that the acids in these various types of foods, “usually the grapefruit diet”, will somehow have the effect of burning away fat in some type of chemical reaction. However, the truth is that your stomach already contains hydrochloric acid that it uses in the digestion process.
Hydrochloric acid is far more powerful than any of the milder edible acids contained in foods like the grapefruit diet, and besides your digestive and metabolic systems are simply far more complex than that. In short, any calorie that you put in your mouth is going to be used, or stored no matter what type of acid you gulp with it.
Taking Laxatives for Fat Removal
The problem with taking laxatives to lose weight is that it does work, but in the wrong way because the weight you lose by gulping these types of pills is shed through water loss. Yes your lower intestine, and colon will loose some volume as well, but as soon as you eat and drink, it’s all coming right back.

This is even easier!
You have to understand that your digestive tract is tens of feet long, and laxatives only work at the lower end. After all your food has been passed through and been digested. So by the time it makes its way to the large intestine where laxatives work to keep everything liquid, all the calories have already been removed and stored.
Lastly, if your goal is to get the food you eat out of your system as fast as possible by way of laxatives, you are in fact making your problem worse. The reason is that laxatives relax the food moving muscles that wrap around your intestines, and that makes them weak. So in the end when you do eventually eat, the food will stay longer in your digestive tract due to weak intestinal muscles.
Liposuction in All its Forms
Now of all the systems and products that claim to rid your body of fat without any changes in your eating habits, liposuction really is the only one that works. Even so, before you jump up out of your chair and run right down to your local plastic surgery clinic, there are just a few things that you do need to be aware of.

Liposuction hurts but it works
For instance while there have been a host of new developments in this area such as ultrasonic, tumescent, and now even laser liposuction that essentially cooks away the fat, it is still an intrusive surgical procedure that carries with it a certain element of risk. In fact you may not even be eligible for liposuction.
For instance if you smoke, or have some type of serious chronic health condition such as heart, kidney or liver disease then you can pretty much count yourself out. Also keep in mind that liposuction isn’t used for fat removal for weight loss. Instead it’s used to remove fat from discreet areas, as a form of body sculpting.
The Big “Buzz” About Lipodissolve
Now who can’t resist at least checking out lipodissolve because it’s basically the poor mans liposuction. The way lipodissolve works, is that certain chemicals are simply injected into the fatty areas to kill those dastardly fat cells and by the way yes it does work. Just the same though, it might serve you well to keep on reading.

Lipodissolve just looks a bit too risky
The problem with lipodissolve is that it’s not FDA approved and while the chemicals that are used are, I have yet to see a drug, or chemical that doesn’t have some type of side effects. So then what are the long term side effects of lipodissolve? Who knows? Didn’t you read the part where I said it’s not FDA approved??
So then how do clinics get away with doing it? The simple answer to that is that very few obscure clinics actually do offer it, and even then they’re very careful in how they state what they offer. You see the chemicals that are used for lipodissolve are FDA approved, but only for certain specific uses. So if they were to offer them for use in an unapproved fashion, that would be a problem.
So yes it’s available, but if you are so desperate for fat removal that you would offer yourself up for what is in effect a highly experimental procedure, perhaps you you can channel that level of desperation in other directions. Bottom line: give lipodissolve some time, so the long term effects, if there are any, can be born out.
